Yahoo Sports Predicts Toronto Taking Tyler Smith At No. 19 In Latest Mock Draft
Kyle Terada-USA TODAY Sports

The Toronto Raptors have two picks in this upcoming 2024 NBA Draft after the results of the 2024 NBA Draft Lottery.

While they unfortunately struck out on a top-six pick, there is still a chance to add some valuable pieces. Which gives Toronto an opportunity to dive deeper into this draft class and find fits around Scottie Barnes, RJ Barrett and Immanuel Quickley.

With the draft taking place on June 26 and 27, the Raptors have plenty of time to do their scouting. So, it will be an intriguing time to see what kind of player they take at No. 19.

According to Krysten Peek of Yahoo Sports, she has Tyler Smith from the G-League Ignite being selected by Toronto.

Smith is a 6’11” forward who is seen more as an offensive player. The biggest question mark for him is his defense, which is something that could be a breaking point in Smith being selected.

In 27 games with the Ignite, Smith averaged 13.7 points, 5.1 rebounds and one block on 47.6 percent from the field and 36.4 percent from deep.

All things considered, Smith is a high-upside pick and he is only 19-years-old.

Peek continues her mock draft by having the Raptors take fellow Canadian Zach Edey at No. 31.

Edey is a 7’4″, 300-pound big man, who was a focal point of Purdue’s offense. He averaged an impressive 24.1 points, 11.7 rebounds and 3 blocks for the Boilermakers.

Originally from Toronto, this would be a homecoming for him. Lacking a physical center outside of Jakob Poeltl, this selection makes sense for the Raptors.

The biggest question mark surrounding the 21-year-old is if his game will translate to the next level.

Bleacher Report slots Duke big man at No. 19

An intriguing option at No. 19 for Toronto is perhaps selecting a center. When Poeltl went down, the Raptors suffered greatly.

Bleacher Report recently revealed in a mock draft that Kyle Filipowski out of Duke would go to Toronto at No. 19.
